Bobby Weed designed the Spanish Oaks golf course with two primary goals: to create one of the best golfing experiences in Texas and to revere, restore and sustain the natural environment of the site. The highly acclaimed design was widely considered the most environmentally friendly golf course built in Texas.
The course takes full advantage of quintessential Hill Country terrain, with strategic routing that creates dramatic elevation changes and breathtaking views. The round builds to an engaging, beautiful final stretch of holes that can either make or break a scorecard, demonstrating what a tremendous tournament course Weed has created.

The club also accommodates private events including cooking classes, wine tastings, family reunions, and business meetings.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
The course construction served as a massive reclamation project, restoring native soils and Hill Country grasses that had been lost to overgrazing, erosion and cedar invasion. Original trees were integrated into the course design or transplanted rather than removed, and the strategic routing plan created minimal need for earthwork.
The entire golf course is irrigated with reclaimed and potable water, with holes adjacent to creeks irrigated with potable water and remaining holes irrigated with reclaimed water.
COMMUNITY
Spanish Oaks features just 485 homes across 900 acres, making it one of Austin’s most exclusive luxury custom home communities. The location offers an easy trip into Austin down Southwest Parkway, a short drive to Lake Travis and a straight shot into the Highland Lakes region of the Hill Country.
